![]() | Stuck in the Tar Pits (SP862) Level: Elementary Type: Teaching Aids Sub-type: Music Reading I created this graphic to help my young students learn how to spot practice. This graphic makes it fun to repeat a small section. The student puts his pawn on the first black tar pit and plays a very short section, such as a measure, of a difficult spot. If he plays it right, he moves to the next tar pit. If he plays it wrong, he is "stuck in the tar pit". The student should learn that if he plays it slowly he is more likely to move forward. This can be lots of fun if approached in a light-hearted non-stressful way. Download PDF document. |
